MGM Music Hall at Fenway, owned by Fenway Sports Group and operated by Live Nation, is a modern, intimate venue in one of the most energetic and vibrant neighborhoods of Boston. With an integrated Cohesion system, it hosts raucous lively concerts, private parties, and additional entertainment in an 85,000 square foot, three-tiered performance space on an unconventional triangular lot directly adjacent to hallowed Fenway Park.
Designing and building a live entertainment venue in one of the most well-trafficked areas of Boston required an audio system that would provide superior clarity and intelligibility as well as immense output. A central goal for this all-seasons venue was an ability to accommodate a wide range of programming, all supported by a PA that would sport concert-level performance. The highly intimate design of the venue also required the system to minimize the number of installed products to preserve sightlines for all seats, the furthest of which was built only 110 feet from the stage.
After hearing how a Cohesion system—most-chosen for top-50global touring artists—supported several Fenway Park performances, the Fenway Sports Group identified it as their preference. Those same proven Cohesion products comprise the MGM Music Hall’s integrated system, with left-right arrays of CO10 and CO8 backed by powerful CP218 II+, CM14, and CP6+. The PA has the flexibility and capacity for all performances, ranging from international R&B and rock tours to private concerts, holiday parties, commencement speeches, corporate receptions, weddings, and a variety of events. The continuous support from the expert Cohesion team instilled trust and collaboration between the system itself and the MGM Music Hall team who operate it daily.
With full-range, consistent horizontal beamwidth and unmatched pattern control, the new PA ably covers each seat in the house. The 5,000-capacityvenue has the same number of integrated CP218 II+ as TD Garden, matching the powerful low end of Boston’s storied arena for professional basketball and hockey. Notably, MGM Music Hall has already topped Live Nation ticket sales for the country and has quickly become one of the hottest spots in a city known for its wide array of entertainment offerings.
